Production Commenced — What It Means
Artemis Medicare Services has operationalised its new facility in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, designated as Artemis Shanti Hospital. This 300-bed multi-specialty center is designed to offer comprehensive medical services, including quaternary care, critical care, and emergency medicine. By establishing a presence in Raipur, the company aims to serve a broad catchment area across Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states, providing technology-driven healthcare infrastructure.
The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art operation theatres and advanced intensive care units, reflecting the company’s push to bring metro-standard clinical protocols to regional markets where advanced medical expertise has historically been scarce.
Path to This Milestone
This launch is the culmination of a strategic initiative first announced on November 14, 2024. At that time, Artemis entered into a Long Term Operations & Management and Medical Services Agreement to manage this specific asset. The transition from the agreement phase to active operations within 20 months highlights the company's execution capability in managed-service expansions.
This move aligns with the group’s vision of creating a geographically diversified healthcare network, leveraging the brand equity established by its flagship 700-bed JCI-accredited hospital in Gurugram to expand into high-growth regional corridors.
Business Overview
Artemis Medicare Services, a part of the Apollo Tyres Group, operates in the healthcare facilities sector with a focus on high-end tertiary care. Its flagship facility in Gurugram is a premier destination for complex medical procedures, holding both JCI and NABH accreditations for quality and safety. The company’s portfolio is structured around clinical excellence and patient-centric care, covering specialties like nephrology and neurosciences.
With the addition of the Raipur facility, the company scales its operational bed capacity, targeting regional markets with significant gaps in advanced healthcare infrastructure to reduce patient travel to metro cities.
Financial Context
The company enters this new operational phase with a strong financial profile, reporting a TTM net profit of 103.62 crore INR. Revenue growth has been consistent, with annual operating revenue reaching 1,081.24 crore INR, representing a 14.55 percent increase year-on-year. The company’s efficiency is reflected in an operating profit margin of 18.48 percent for the latest quarter.
While the stock's valuation is currently in a higher range with a PE of 40.94, its durability score of 75 suggests a robust balance sheet capable of supporting the initial operational ramp-up costs of the new 300-bed Raipur capacity.
